Tell your friends not to lose out on this wonderful opportunity to showcase their work! I need you all to spread the ‘gospel’ of the Open Studios Weekend as registration closes on 31 July 2015.

Look at these lovely welcoming sights :

I am already looking forward to next year’s event as there will be so much more time to organise and prepare for an even bigger occasion. One needs to be a bit of a ‘wedding planner’ to pull it all together.

If you haven’t had a peep yet, go to the website : Open Studios and see whose art you are going to look at over that weekend in September – and don’t leave your friends at home! More artists will be added to the page soon.

There is not much news this week as I have been sitting glued to my computer screen, adding the new members to the website, writing press releases, keeping up with correspondence and generally just keeping a cool head as well as staying cool underneath the fan. I’m not a great admirer of air-conditioning as my body does not like the changes in temperature between inside and outside. I try and keep it on an even keel, just as I am trying to keep art-en-route-cyprus sailing smoothly through sometimes choppy waters.

TONJA, Katja, a member of art-en-route-cyprus, has sent me a marvellous link which I’m going to share with you – your own virtual museum at home : http://www.mystudios.com/artgallery/ - a very interesting site indeed, with lots to feast your eyes on.

Have you had a look at our Facebook page yet? It’s really a marvellous space to chat about art and artists in general. Why not go to https://www.facebook.com/artenroutecyprus and LIKE the page? And while you are there, say something!

I had a marvellous Sunday morning. There was this bag that has been in the storeroom upstairs, then it moved to the cupboard where I kept all my finished art and then ... it move to the study. There it sat for several months being moved this way and that and still just sitting there. This bag was emptied this Sunday morning and in it I found work I have forgotten I had made! What a lovely surprise. I went to work and rescued 5 pieces that were going to be binned and I am happy to say I now have enough work to show on the Open Studios Weekend! This has been a good day!

This will set me free to do all the other preparations such as designing labels for the participants, compose my price list and design an invitation. I feel so chuffed!

Till next time, keep on creating!
