OPEN STUDIOS all year round!

This is a small article which is appearing in PALS Magazine this month:

Many of you will recall the wonderful weekends in October we used to enjoy visiting artists’ studios and workspaces. Unfortunately, in 2010 the official Open Studios went into hibernation from which I doubt it will emerge.

I was actively and enthusiastically involved with Open Studios, but since its disappearance from the scene, I have increasingly felt the need for a platform from which to showcase my work. That led me to believe that if I felt like that, surely other artists would feel the same.

After I lost my husband in 2012, and when the dust had settled, I set to work and the result may be seen at – the story behind its creation can be read on the blog at .There is also a dedicated Facebook page and I am working on other social media, which scares me dilly!

In essence, for the miniscule amount of €15.00 per year membership, artists can join the website directory, benefit from the promotional, advertorial, and media involvement I create on a regular basis. Of course, no man (or woman) is an island and for that reason, I require positive and active involvement from all the artists who are members, in the shape of information. There are no others involved in the running and maintaining of the website and other duties, and money is not in abundance, which means word of mouth is an essential tool for promoting us.

If you would like to join the merry band of creators and get traffic into your studio or workspace – or exhibition space – please contact me on and I will let you have the necessary information. You will have your own page on the website listing all your vital information, together with up to 8 images of your work in a slide show that cannot be copied. This web page is yours and can be used in all your own promotional material.

Please tell your friends!
